When glamorous lifestyle meets historical charm, St. Tropez welcomes you with a playful smile. Thanks to Brigitte Bardot and colleagues, the once original fishing village has become a “cradle of the international jet set”. Which distinguishes St. Tropez thereby from other pearls at the Côte d’Azur: Here one still meets the real charm of the village. This Provençal attitude to life – with a touch of chic as the icing on the cake – is what makes St. Tropez so worth experiencing – especially for yacht vacationers.
HIGHLIGHTS AROUND ST. TROPEZ
THE CITADEL OF ST. TROPEZ
As you stroll through the alleys, leaving the port behind you and working your way up from sea level, you will reach a hill. From here the view over the red tiled roofs of the city is picturesque. At the top of the hill rises the citadel of the port city. Around 1600, the building served as a fortress, protecting St. Tropez from attacks by sea. Today, the citadel is a landmark of the city and can be admired by yachting tourists upon arrival. A museum inside the citadel holds a collection of maritime anecdotes from St. Tropez.
THE OLD PORT OF ST. TROPEZ
The port of St. Tropez nestles right next to the historic old town. Here, yacht clubs and inviting bistros offer the finest service. The port has been a well-known high-society meeting spot since the 1950s. Stroll over the harbour wall and let yourself drift. Quite a few people have already found their favorite wine in one of the nearby cafés.
LES GRANIERS
The beach club “Les Graniers” offers culinary highlights. With a view of the villas of the stars, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can enjoy the sound of the sea and French cuisine. Moor your yacht and use the tender service. With warm sand between your toes, let yourself be enchanted by the sight of the hilly landscape on the opposite side – that’s how versatile St. Tropez is, far away from all clichés.
